Vaco Changes To Virtual Social Media

If you could know everything someone thought about you, would you want to know?

With the explosion of social media sites, a vocal viral community and the trend towards total transparency,  business leaders are realizing that in 2010, there is no choice – Google knows and tells all.

Proactive executives see the opportunity to differentiate through this new, evolving platform and are engaging their target audiences in more direct ways than ever before.  Even reluctant leaders who are a little intimidated by all things that tweet, blog and go bump in the night recognize it is a powerful force-and are taking action.

Top View Social Media Series presented by consulting and placement firm, Vaco, will lift the veil and demystify how companies are using social media to drive revenue and profits. More than the mechanics, this is a relatable series singularly focused on results-oriented communication in an increasingly virtual world.

Originally, 1500 business executives were expected to attend an all-day summit on August 13th in downtown Nashville–Big South Social Media Summit. Tickets sold at $250 per seat. 16 Executives who were on the front lines of their company’s social media successes were booked and event planning for this ground-breaking  summit at Schermerhorn Symphony Center was moving full steam ahead…and then the devastating Nashville flood happened in early May.

Unfortunately, the floodwaters caused more than $42 million in damage to the treasured Symphony Center, forcing Vaco to cancel the event.  This adversity sparked viral creativity and the event moved to a series and found a new virtual home on the net. Big South Social Media Summit is now Top View Social Media Series. And it’s all 100% free.  Good news for attendees!

Top View Social Media Series, www.topviewseries.com,  will launch its first presentation of the series on the originally scheduled date of August 13. Monthly video presentations are posted on the 2nd Friday of each month and follow-up videos are posted  throughout the month based on viewer feedback.  The interactive portion of the site is scheduled to go live on Friday July 30th.

Vaco’s vision for this site  is  to be a resource for business community leadership everywhere.   Viewers will be able to tap into video presentations from business executives who have implemented successful corporate social media campaigns.  Social media strategy has evolved from an optional marketing addition to the place where critical conversations happen.

This series demonstrates tactical paths to success.  Top View presenters share their insight and best practices each month in a video designed for the Top View audiences.  The comments and question section that is tied to each presentation is interactive so presenters and audience members alike can communicate and build community.

Follow-up videos will be posted in direct response to the voices that are heard via this portal.  Viewers are able to sign up to receive updates when Top View publishes new industry-leading content for executives engaged in social media.

Vaco founder, Jerry Bostelman explains “Nashville’s flood caused so much devastation. Through it all, Nashville showed strength, unity and power.  The Schermerhorn would have been a majestic stage for the social media summit but we’re very excited about the opportunity to reach a larger audience on the web.

Our site will be a one-stop shop for all-things concerning corporate  social media success.  I am looking forward to learning new ways Vaco can further utilize technology to communicate with the audiences we serve.”
